Capabilities
S.O.TECH's ISO 9001:2008 certified cutting and sewing facility operating out of a 12,000 square foot factory located in Carson, CA. We are staffed by over 75 personnel and 81 sewing machines, 7 specialty stitch machines, 2 hydraulic cutting presses and a 12-head embroidery machine. Our staff is comprised of both service-disabled veterans and non-disabled veterans, some of which are taking part in the charity employment reintegration program "V.I.P.E.R." We also provide our customers with a custom design staff and short run production team, both of which are easily accessible in Los Angeles, CA; not weeks away at overseas facilities.
US Production
If the product says "S.O.TECH", it is made in our US facility. S.O.TECH can also produce Berry Complaint, Buy American Act, and US made commercial standard according to your project requirements. S.O.TECH has strategic relationships with multiple subcontract sewing facilities in the United States providing overflow options to ensure on-time delivery regardless of quantity ordered.
Offshore Production
If the product says "Paladin", it is designed in the US but produced in one of our offshore facilities. S.O.TECH staff travels to our offshore production facility partners to inspect our products and to ensure materials and workmanship are up to the standards set by S.O.TECH's engineering department and employees.
Process
- 1. Customers with project requirements consult with a S.O.TECH Project Manager (PM).
- 2. After collecting customer requirement information, the PM will assist the S.O.TECH engineering staff in creating plans, diagrams, production samples and price estimates for review by the customer.
- 3. Once designs and samples are signed off, the project will be scheduled, sewn and assembled.
- 4. Projects will be tracked throughout the process by a S.O.TECH expediter who will keep customer informed of the progress and projected completion dates.
- 5. Products will finally pass through S.O.TECH's quality inspection before being warehoused, where they will ship according to the customer's requirements.
Quality
Our ISO 9001:2008 certification ensures that your product will be manufactured each and every time to the same high standard and the materials we use will be stocked and monitored for ISO 9001:2008 compliance. S.O.TECH quality records are maintained to give you the assurance that every step of production was monitored for compliance with our ISO 9001:2008 approved processes.
Materials
S.O.TECH maintains a stock of standard military tactical nylon and fire retardant Nomex cloth (1000 Denier and 500 Denier) as well as nylon webbings, seam tapes, metal/plastic fasteners and buckles, hook and loop, foam, mesh, vinyl, plastic stiffeners and liners. Located near the Los Angeles garment district, S.O.TECH can procure most cloths, webs, and fasteners quickly and efficiently for your project.
Colors
While S.O.TECH stocks most military colors and camouflage patterns, we can also easily access most commercially available colors. Some specialized colors and dye lots are available through a minimum yardage purchase only and may incur significant expense. Graphics
With both an in-house graphic designer and through a relationship with a local graphics company, S.O.TECH can provide both creative design, silk screening, and embroidery short run and mass production project runs. S.O.TECH has twelve head embroidery machines and the capability and proven experience to manufacture nametapes, patches, pouches, slings, T-shirts, ball caps, packs and a variety of other bags.
Costs
Cost estimates will be provided for design work, custom work, samples, short runs and mass production runs in a tiered pricing system based on quantity requested by the customer.
Quantities
S.O.TECH's minimum quantity production is 20 pieces. We will provide stratified price quotes (ex. 100 pc, 1000 pc, 5000 pc, etc.). Orders of less than 20 pieces will be accepted as custom shop orders and are typically more expensive.
Manufacturing Policies
We work with all size projects small, medium, and large runs. Production will begin following signed approval of sample(s). Non-recurring costs may be amortized (TBD). Samples of product (inserts) are required prior to production.
Government Contract
S.O.TECH has been sewing government contracts since 1997. We hold GSA Contract number GS-07F-5953R, DAPA Contract, and open sales through multiple DOD Tactical and Medical Prime Vendors. We are registered in CCR (1RW01) and ORCA/BPN, and have significant experience with small to large scale DOD bid solicitation contracts.
Samples
When an order is placed, a pre-production sample is provided for sign-off purposes before our production begins.
Graphics
Silk screening of your logo or product name is available through our in-house design services.
Tooling
Depending on the specific requirements of your project, a tooling charge may apply prior to production of the first order. Your sales representative will inform you if a tooling charge is required.
Pricing
Quantity ordered greatly influences the price of a custom made item. Price breaks will be determined on an individual product basis.
All prices are quoted F.O.B. "freight on board" shipping dock. Net terms may be available pending credit approval. All other orders will require 50% of the order to be charged upfront in order to cover the cost of material acquisition and project set-up fees.
Minimum Orders
No job too small. Smaller orders will often incur a larger cost per item while larger quantity orders will have a decreased cost per item since set-up fees and labor can be distributed over a large number of final products.
Lead Time for domestic orders
S.O.TECH typically quotes a lead time of 4 to 6 weeks after receipt of all raw materials required to complete the job. Lead times may decrease based on raw material availability and other factors. We will try our best to meet your specified require date.
Packaging
All orders are packaged in bulk unless otherwise specified by the customer at time of order.
Additional Services Available
Packaging, fulfillment, warehousing, drop shipments, and engineering changes are available. Additional charges required will be determined with the customer at the time of the request.
